Inquiry No. 86-01 This refers to a telephone inquiry by Mr. Steven Courtemanche of this office with Dr. Palansky of your staff on August 11, 1986. This inquiry concerned activities authorized by License No. SNM-1664, as they relate to the pending need for renewal of your license.
From this discussion, it is our understanding that there are still patients with inplanted pacemakers.
So long as there are patients with implanted pacemakers, it will be necessary for Brockton Hospital to maintain License No.
If our understandings are incorrect, please inform us in writing.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the Public Document Room.
