Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 2 (TMI-2)
Operating License No. DPR-73 Docket No. 50-320 TMI-2 Organization Plan - Revision 13 Attached for your review and approval is a proposed revision to the TMI-2 Organization Plan. The TMI-2 Project has reached the stage where most of the work remaining is operational in nature.
The major engineering, design, procurement and installation tasks are essentially complete. Therefore, it is timely to consolidate several TMI-2 organizational components to achieve more cost effective and efficient conduct of the Project.
The consolidation will phase out the Recovery Programs Department and transfer its component parts into other existing Project Departments.
The specific changes will be as follows:
o The Recovery Program Control Section will be transferred to the' Manager, Office of the Director Program Controls effective August 18, 1986.
o The Recovery Systems and Support Section will be transferred to the Defueling Director and will be consolidated into the Defueling Support Section effective August 18, 1986.
o The Decontamination and Site Engineering Sections will be transferred to the Site Operations Director effective September 1, 1986. Site Engineering will then be combined with Plant Engineering to form Recovery Engineering.

The Design Engineering Section will no longer be part of the TMI-2 Project line organizatioq. However, they will perform work on a task order basis. This change is effective August 18, 1986.
In addition to the above reorganization, the proposal changes the titles of the following positions:
Old Title New Title Manager, Defueling Defueling Director Manager, Engineering Manager, Defueling Engineering Manager, Operations Defueling Operations Director Manager, Support Manager, Defueling Support TMI-2 Radiological Manager, Radiological Controls TMI-2 Controls Director The above title changes, with the exception of Manager, Radiological Controls TMI-2, are solely administrative in nature and do not change the structure of the TMI-2 organization nor the responsibilities of the positions. The Manager, Radiological Controls TMI-2 will function in the capacity of Acting Radiological Controls Director TMI-2 in the interim pending approval of Technical Specifications Change Request No. 54. Additionally, a request to change the TMI-l Technical Specifications is being developed to incorporate responsibility for the Radiological Health Section and Radiological Training Section under the Manager, Radiological Controls TMI-1. Upon NRC approval of this change, the Manager, Radiological Controls TMI-2 will no longer be responsible for the Radiological Health Section and Radiological Training Section.
Per the requirements of 10 CFR 170, an application fee of $150.00 is enclosed.
