JUN 2 51986 Mr. Henry G. Vickers Regional Director Federal Emergency Management Agency Region I J. W. McCormack Post Office

& Courthouse Building Room 442 Boston, Massachusetts 02109 Gentlemen:

Subject:

Emergency Response Staff Information The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is in the process of developing guidance to meet NRC needs in the event of a national emergency.

In the interim, in the event of a national emergency, NRC, Region I action will be to activate the Region I Incident Response Center at 631 Park Avenue, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, in conjunction with activation of our Headquarters Operations Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

At that time, a joint decision between Headquarters and Region I will be made as to any additional actions, and whether a need exists to deploy NRC personnel to one or more relocation centers.

In response to your request of May 27, 1986, we are providing you with a list of our current Team "A" and a list of individuals whom we plan to reassign to the relocation centers in the event that personnel were sent to all three FEMA Regions (Enclosure 1).

It is to be understood that two of the listed indi-viduals on Team "B" would be identified as the replacements for the Regional Administrator and Emergency Coordinator at the time of the emergency. Also enclosed is the security information for these individuals.

We will inform you of any changes in our planned operations when they are made.

If you have any questions, contact Ken Ferlic (215-337-5083) of my staff.

Sincerely, OrigimiSignedEfr meu T. !/.artin 92 {
