TERMINATION OF CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE NO. 9096
Dear Mr. Paquin:
Certificate of Compliance No. 9096 for the Model No. CNS 21-300 package expired on April 1, 1999. Accordingly, use of the package under the General License provisions of Subpart C of 10 CFR Part 71 or under the provisions of 49 CFR 173.471 is terminated.
In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 71.52, this package was previously authorized to transport Low Specific Activity (LSA) radioactive material. However, Section 71.52 expired on April 1,1999; consequently, the certificate cannot be renewed. LSA pazkages and their use are now regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). For more information on LSA packages and their use, you may contact Mr. Richard Boyle in the Office of Hazardous Materials Technology at DOT. Mr. Boyle can be reached at (202) 366-4545.
