Pursuant to the request, Comonwealth Edison submits the following j

timeframe provided due to a manpower shortage la the Nealth Physics (

U,S NRC November 21, 1988 presently in process of formulating a nuclear decommissioning external funding plan for all of its nuclear generating units which will comply with the State of Illinois Law, the related forthcoming Accounting and Rate Orders of the Illinois Commerce Commission, the requitements

, of Section 468A of the Internal Revenue Code and the final Regulations of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The Company intends to submit an acceptable decommissioning and financial assurance plan to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission after the related provisions of the pendir; 1111 iois Commerce Commission Orders are known shich is expected to be well before the July 26, 1990 deadline as prencribed in 10 CFR Part 50.33(k)(2) 9f the Pinal NRC Regulat'.ons.
