Beaver Valley Power Station - Unit No. 2 Docket No. 50-412 Final Safety Analysis Report - Amendment 12 Gentlemen:
Duquesne Light Company, acting on its own behalf and as agent for The Cleveland Electric illuminating Company, fhic Edison Company, and The Toledo Edison Company, is filing herewith three (3) signed originals plus sixty (60) copies of Amendment 12 to the Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) for the Beaver Valley Power Station Unit No. 2.
Attachment #1 provides a brief description of FSAR changes in this amendment which we believe could impact the staff's Safety Evaluation Report.
This amendment includes a revised description resulting from a change in fuel to be used at BVPS-2.
The new fuel is a standard Westinghouse design and differs from the previous fuel mainly in internal pressure.
Therefore, we believe the SER findings will not be affected by this ch ange.
N-1 loop analyses have not been revised to reflect this change and should be considered obsolete unless instructed otherwise.
Revised L OCA analyses are included for the purpose of increasing operational flexibility.
They were performed using the BART code and we believe will not affect the SER findings.
