Vogtle Electric Generating Plant - Unit 2 USNRC Inspection Report 50-425/88-49 Georgia Power Company wishes to submit the following infonnation i

concerning the violation identified in the referenced inspection report.

Violation 50-425/88-49-01 Failure to Protect Installed Equipment.

Georgia Power Company (GPC) acknowledges the violation as identified in the USNRC report.

This violation has been attributed to failure to follow guidelines established in Procedure GN-T-17. Housekeeping.

The broken flexible conduit and bent instrument line condition have been listed for repair on the room turnover punchlist.

A walkdown of the area revealed no further problems.

The water leak causing the corroded conduit and instrument tubing has been repaired and the corrosion removed.

The trash in the junction box has been removed and a box cover installed as a normal part of room / area turnover.

Re-inspections of rooms / areas that have been released fcr testing were done.

No additional problems were identified.

Additionally, Procedure GD-A-50, Area Turnover, requires all components to be inspected prior to turnover to Nuclear Operations at which time these type conditions are reported and corrected.

Full compliance was achieved November 3, 1988.
