Georgia Power Company wishes to submit the following information concerning the violation identified in the referenced inspection report.

i Violation 50-425/88-48-01 Failure to Properly Tighten Flexible Conduit in Containment.

l Georgia Power Company (GPC) acknowledges the violation as identified in the USNRC report.

The connections were apparently loosened during the Containment wash down evaluation.

The connections identified in the inspection report were retightened during the required walkdown prior to the room / area release for testing on September 15 1988.

In addition, all the flexible conduit connections on Level One of i

the Containment were checked for tightness and found to be snug tight i

i on October 24 and 25, 1988.

j To avoid further violations, a review of the present program for snug i

tightness was performed and no changes were deemed necessary.

However.

at the time of future room / area turnovers, field engineering has been i

I instructed to place additional emphasis on verifying the proper installation of flexible conduits.

Full compliance was achieved November 3. 1988.
