ENHANCED PARTICIPATORY RULEMAKING FOR THE CLEARANCE OF MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT WITH RESIDUAL RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINATION

Dear Mr. Loiselle:

I am responding to your letter of April 20,1999, which forwarded comments on this subject. We welcome the views of your organization, as well as other stakeholders, and we will consider your comments as we prepare for the public workshops to be held later this year.

In your letter, you mentioned the issues paper currently being developed by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff. Following Commission approval, we plan to publish the issues paper in the Federal Reaister and place it on our Web site.
