At 1020 hrs on 4/49g a classified document was Laft unattended on a desk in an X 100 building office. A Confidential National Secunty infomation Document was left on top of a desk in the office area for approximate!y 5 minutes while the custodian was performing other duties outside of the area.
Secunty section investigation indicates no reason to suspect that the contents of the dor..rnent was ccMble to observation by uncleared persenrel. This is based on the low level of personnel traffic to the inner office area where the document was stored anQ r 'J b4 Sed on the short period of time the doCL. ment was left unattended.

On 4-20-99 at 1*00 EDST, the Plant Shift Superintendent was notified that a security infraction had occurred. The Plant's Classification Officer while observing classified maintenance activities in the X-700 discovered materials determined to be classified were outside of approved storage locations for such materials. After discussions with the Maintenance FLM, the Classification Officer identired the matenal as needing protection as CRD. Immediate action wers taken to protect the components and property account for these items.
This event is reportable as
- any infractions, losses, compromises, or possible compromise of classified information or classified documents not falling within 10cfr 95 57(a)." It is being logged per 10 CFR 57(b) (Exemption)

On 4-21-99 at 1415 EDST, the Plant Shin Superintendent was notified that a security infraction had occurred. The Plant's Classification Cffice while performing a follow-up investigation to an earty event involving mauntenance activities in the X 700 discovered an Unclassified Design Change 14 tee outside of approved storage locations for such information. ARer discussions with POTS Engineering. the Classification Officer identified the the information as needing protection as CRO. Immediate action were taken to protect the information and property account for these items.
