Thank you for your letter dated April 9,1999, in which, you provided notice concerning the expiration of my Quality Assurance (QA) Program Approval for Radioactive Material Packages, Approval No. 0887.

The activities authorized by this Approval were limited to the U.S Department of Energy / Los Alamos National Laboratory Manual" Plutonium Beryllium (239PuBe) Neutron Source Recovery Program," dated March 1997. A single shipment from Washington University to Los Alamos National Laboratory was successfully completed in January,1998. Washington University has no wish to renew or amend this Approval.
