Request that program approval be received as soon as possible with certification for use of the DOT 6M shipping container.. Actu'al shipment of this AM-241 Source is contingent upon approval of our Q,A., Program and our receiving a copy of a proper license from Tyco General' Nucleonics, Inc., Pomona, California authorizing possession. Tyco General Nucleonics has supposedly recently applied for that license.

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM FOR PACKACING AND SHIPMENT OF RADIOACTIVE SEALED SOURCES ADDITIONAL INFORMATION DOCKET NO. 71-0594 I.
ORGANIZATION A.
The individuals responsible for the overall administration and assessing the effectiveness of the QA Program are Billy J. Blaylock, Radiation Protection Officer, and Charles R. Argo, Alternate Radiation Protection Officer for Milan Army Ammunition Plant.
Qualifications for the above individuals are attached.
B.
The above individuals will perform all QA/QC functions relative to the pr.ckaging and shipment of the AM-241 Source and have written delegated authority to stop unsatisfactory work.

A.
PROGRAM QA/QC activities important to safety including loading of radioactive material are performed according to written procedure with management approval.

Q.
A.
RECORDS All records required by 10CFR 71.91(a) will be retained for a period of two (2) years.
IV.
AUDITS A final audit of the Q.A. Program will be conducted prior to a shipment using a pre-established check list.
