MODIFICATION TO TASK ORDER 2. *Modularization of TRAC-P" The purpose of this modification is: (1) to add the following Subtasks 6.13 through 6.19 to the Statement of Work, (2) to provide additional $66,788 in incremental funding to cover the added subtasks, (3) to extend the period of performance from November 30,1999 to May 31,2000, and (4) to allow the planning of up to three person-trips.

~ ' St'atement Of Work Subtask 6.13. Test Advanced Unear Solver Test the advanced linear solver. The work involves performing the TRAC-M test problem suite and special test problems (e.g., AP600, ROSA, etc.).

Deliverable: A letter report in both test and electronic format.

Estimated level of efforts:

2 student-months (on half time basis, equivalent to one full month)

Estimated completion date: August 31,1999.

Subtask 6.14. Develop Linear Solver Selector Develop an intelligent algorithm to ailow the TRAC-M code to intemally decide at run time which linear solver is most appropriate for the specific problem.

Estimated level of efforts:

2 student-months Estimated completion date: October 31,1999.

Subtask 6.15. Parallelization of New Linear Solver The new linear solver will be adapted to parallel computation. Specifically, a threads-based parallel programming model will be used because of the fine-grain parallelism available in a direct solver. The threads programming will be integrated into the existing PVM mecsage passing modelin TRAC-M.

Estimated level of efforts:

2.5 student-months Estimated completion date: January 31,2000 Subtask 6.16 Prepare Documentation Prepare sections of the TRAC-M Sof tware Requirements Specification (SRS), the Software Design and Implementation Document (SDID), and the Test Plan for the new linear solver in accordance with the NRC Sof tware Qualification Assurance (SQA) Plan.

Estimated level of efforts:

2 student-months Estimated completion date: March 31,2000 1

Convert 3D Kinetics Linkage to the New Interprocess Communication Protocol Convert the existing 3Dkinetics linkage in TRAC-M to the new Interprocess Communication Protocol developed at Penn State University.

Estimatedlevelof efforts:

0.5 student-month Estimated completion date: May 31,2000 Subtask 6.19.

Integration of Automatic Data Assignment Algorithm into TRAC-M An automatic data assignment algorithm will be developed by L. Liebrock of i

Liebrock/ Hicks Associates. This subtask will assist in the integration of that algorithm into the TRAC-M code.

Estimated level of efforts:

0.5 student-month Estimated completion date: May 31,2000 MEETINGS ANDTRAVEL The contractor should plan to attend two meetings a year in Washington, D.C. for contract l

review and technical discussions, ACRS meetings, and the Water Reactor Safety Information Meeting. For planning purpose, each meeting may be attended by one person from thx contractor organization at a duration of two days. Also for planning purpose, the contractor may also attend one additional technical meeting at other locations, sponsored by ASME, ANS, or ACRS; each meeting may be attended by one person at a duration of three days. Prior approval from the NRC Project Officer is needed for any domestic or foreign travel. For foreign travel, the contractor must also submit an NRC Form 445 to the NRC for approval at least 60 days prior to the travel date.
