This refers to the inspection conducted by K. Naidu of this office on January 26, 1987, of your facility at Northridge and to the discussions of our findings with you and members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
This inspection was made to followup on the potential defect reported by you in your letter to us dated September 17, 1986 concerning pressure transducers manufactu ed by Validyne. Areas examined during the inspection and our findings are discussed in the enclosed report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of an examination of procedures and representative records, inteiviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Results of the inspection indicate that you promptly notified contractors who may have installed pressure transducers with electrical coils similar to those which experienced failures during temperature endurance tests performed at your plant, and that you have not received from them any infor-mation on actual failures in service. l I
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
