Reference:
A. Bert Davis letter to Cordell Reed dated March 9, 1987
Dear Mr. Davis:
On March 13, 1987, representatives of Commonwealth Edison Company met with you and members of your staff to discuss the SALP 6 Board Report transmit-ted by reference (a).
Commonwealth Edison appreciated the opportunity to discuss the report with you. We acknowledge your conclusions in reference (a) that LaSalle Station " performance was found acceptable and directed toward safe facility operation", and has " improved regulatory performance during the agreement period". We have developed and implemented programs to improve Station performance and believe the improved operating performance in the latter half of 1986 highly reflects these initiatives.
f We recognize the need for continued management attention in surveillance, security and housekeeping.
Overall, we believe this report is a good assessment of our performance.
We are encouraged that the NRC has seen an overall improvement in LaSalle Station's regulatory performance. The Station has challenged themselves in their goals progra:n to continue their pursuit of excellence.
Very t y yours,
