ORGANIZATION The Final responsibility for the Quality Assurance (QA) Program for Part 71 Requirements

rests with The American Inspection Company Inc. Design and Fabrication shall not be conducted under this QA Program. The QA Program is implemented using the following l
organlaation: (Orgamination Chart Attached) i The Radiation Safety Officer (RS0)/ Radiation Protection Office (RPO) is responsible for overall administration of the program, training and certification, document control and i
suditing.

The Radiographers are responsible for handling, storing, shipping, inspection, test and l
operating status and recordkeeping.

QUALITY ASSUR ANCE PROGR AM The management of The American Inspection Company Inc. establishes and Implements j
this QA Program.
Training, prior to engagemeut, for all QA functions is required according to w ritten procedures.
QA Program reilslons will be made according to written procedures with managment approval.
The QA Program will ensure that all defined QC procedures, engineering procedures, and specific provisions of the package f
design approval are satisfied.
The QA Program will emphaslae control of the characteristics of the package which are critical to safety.

The Radiation Safety Officer RSO/ Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) shall assure that all l
radiosctlie material shipping packages are designed and manufactured under a QA f
f Program approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for all packages designed or fabricated af ter January 1, 1979.
This requirement will be satisfied by receliing a certification to this effect from the saanufacturer or supplier of the package.

DOCUMENT CONTROL All documents related to a specific shippius package will be controlled through the use j
of written procedures.
All document changes will be performed according to written pro <edures approved by management.
I The Radiation Safet) Officer (RS0)/ Radiation Protection Officer (NPO) shall lasure that all QA functions are conducted in accordance with the latest applicable changes to these documents.

4.
HANDLING, STORAGE, AND SHIPPING l
Written safety procedures concerning the handling, storage, and shipping of packages for radioattlie material will be followed.
Shipments will not be made unless all tests, i
certifications, acceptances, and final inspections haie been completed. Work Instructions I
will be proilded for handling, storage, and shipping operations.

INSPECTION, TEST, AND OPERATING STATUS f
Inspection, test, and operating status of packass: for radioactlie material *111 be

QUALITY ASSURANCE RECORDS j
Records of package approvals (lactuding references and d ra w in gs), procurement, inspections, tests, operating logs, audit results, personnel training and quallfications and records of shipments will be maintained.
Descriptions of equipment and written procedures will also be maintained.
These records will be maintained in accordance with writteli procedures.
The records will be identified and rettletable. A list of these records, with their storage locations, will be maintained by the Radla lon Safety Officer (RSO)/ Radiation Protection Officer I
(R PO).
7.
AUDITS f
Established schedules of audits of the QA Program will be performed using written check

lists. Results of audits will be malatained and reported to management. Audit report i
will be etaluated and deficient areas corrected. The audits will lie dependent on the I
safety significance of the actliity being audited but each actlilty will be audited at least
[
l once per ) ear. Audit reports will be maintained as part of the quality assurance records.
1 Members of the audit team shall have no responsibility in the actisity being audited.

LSQJOPE STOR AGE:
Isotopes will be stored when not in use in either a locked steel encased container located at one of our permanent laboratories, or housed similarly in a mobile unit per Section ill - Article 10.6.3.3.
in all cases, steel container will be posted with
- Caution-Madicartite hinterial" and "Cautloa. Radiation Area" signs, and

are constructed to present unauthorized removal of the cameras, while ensuring that exterior radiation letels do not i
exceed that permissable for unrestricted areas.

EXEOSING FACILITY AhlSPEC does not currently plan to use any of our permanent laboratories for in house radiography operations. Should the l
future warrant such operations, then complete plans per title
- 10. Chapter 1 of the. Code of Federal Regulations - Energy, I
will be submitted in an amendment form for NMC approtal.
