Dear Mr. Adams:

if I am pleased to report that the activities at the Nuclear Engineering Teaching Laboratory (NETL) are continuing to improve. Dr. Tom Bauer is working on improving his interpersonal communications and, during the past six months, has demonstrated better skills in this area. In addition, the Mechanical Engineering Department has hired Mr. Sean O' Kelly to be Associate Director of the NETL His presence will help in a major way to improve utilization of the nuclear reactor in our teaching and research activities. I am sure you know Mr.

O' Kelly from previous interactions at Texas A&M. The department has also strengthened and expanded the Nuclear Reactor Committee and has created an Executive Committee at the NETL with authority over all aspects of the laboratory's operations.

The Nuclear and Radiation Engineering Program continues to have support from all levels of university administration - department, college, and institutional.

We expect that his support will continue as the nuclear program expands its i activities and minimizes personnel difficulties. I fully expect that operations of the  !

nuclear reactor laboratory will continue on a positive slope while meeting all l safety and regulatory aspects. Unless something unusual occurs, I anticipate no further correspondence related to these past personnel and organizational difficulties. i
