This information is an important aspect of the TVA Drawing Control Program for Sequoyah, which has been described in references 2 and 3.
For drawing control purposes at Sequoyah, an as-configured drawing is a drawing which depicts the as-built configuration of a component, system, or structure, at a point in time as indicated by date of issue, as shown in the revision block. The details regarding comprehensive scheduling for drawings to be as-configured are still being developed by TVA.

ENCLOSURE 1 DRAWINGS TO BE MAINTAINED AS-CONFIGURED AT SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT CATEGORY l - CONTROL ROOM PRIMARY DRAWINGS There are approximately 884 drawings which are maintained as Control Room Primary Drawings. They are listed in Administrative Instruction (AI)-25, Part I, " Drawing Control After Unit Licensing," are used by Operations to operate tne plant, and are kept in the control room.
All of these drawings will be maintained as-configured.
In addition, the current conf r,uration status will be " red-lined" on the copies kept in the control room until the changes are incorporated on the drawings, in accordance with AI-19, Part IV, " Plant Modifications: After Licensing." These drawings will be updated within 15 days of receipt by the Division of Nuclear Engineering (DNE) of the completed workplan drawings from Modifications in accordance with Sequoyah Engineering Procedure (SQEP)-42,
" Control of CCDs," and SQEP-30, " Control of As-Constructed Drawings."
CATEGORY 2 - SECONDARY SAFETY-RELATED DRAWINGS These safety-related drawings are distinguished by a "Q" designation un the drawing title block and will be maintained in an as-configured status, in accordance with SQEP-30 and SQEP-42, except for drawings such as isometrics, load tables, and bills of material, which are used as input to other drawings and which will be treated as category 4.
These "Q" drawings depict the configuration of the safety-related portions of the plant and are used to design, operate, and maintain the plant. They will be updated within 90 days of receipt by DNE of the completed workplan drawings from Modifications, in accordance with SQEP-42.

SQEP-30 will be revised by April 15, 1987, to address these drawings.
CATEGORY 3 - NONSAFETY-RELATED DRAWINGS These drawings depict the configuration of the nonsafety-related portions of the plant. This category only includes those drawings which are deemed necessary to support plant maintenance or modifications or those drawings that TVA chooses to maintain current configuration for convenience. These drawings have no time limits for update; however, a target date of 90 days has been established. They include the non "Q" drawings for the drawing series listed in attachment 1.
This list is being refined as necessary, based upon recommendations from Maintenance, Operations, the disciplines within DNE, Engineering Assurance (EA), and Modifications to ensure that all needed drawings are included.

" CATECORY 4 - OTHER DESICN DRAWINGS This category includes all other drawings not included above which DNE uses to provide documentation of nonessential features, such as structure locations, or to support other design drawings. These drawings will not be as-configured and will be updated and maintained as-designed, as required by DNE in accordance with Nuclear Engineering Procedure (NEP) 6.1, " Change Control." This category also includes drawings such as isometrics, load tables, and bills of material.
CONFIGURATION OF DRAWINGS a
The Design Baseline and Verification Program (DBVP) subset of primary drawings for unit 2 will be converted into single drawings (Configuration Control Drawings (CCDs)) by the end of the fuel cycle 4 outage l

single CCD as the drawings are revised on an as-needed basis.
SQEP-17,
" Procedure for Or3gination and Categorization of Configuration Control i
Drawings (CCDs) " controls this process. Category 3 drawings will be maintained in an as-configured status but will not be converted to CCDs.
i Category 4 drawings will be maintained in the current design status to support the design basis, other design drawings, calculations, or other situations requiring as-designed status. As an enhancement to the efforts addressing legibility concerns for Sequoyah drawings (see reference 2),
TVA has a long-team program underway to put all category 1 drawings into I
the Computer-Automated Drafting and Manufacturing (CADAM) system to improve the quality, legibility, and ease of revision.
