Gentlemen:

l As you are aware, on October 18, 1988, the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board requested additional information from the NRC Staff related to the Environmental Assessments issued on Septenber 8, 1988. The Staff is responding to that request.

In their request the Board suggested that a survey of terrestrial fauna be conducted at the proposed Oliver Springs site in order to look for evidence of threatened or endangered species.

We request that you undertake a survey promptly for any evidence of threatened or endangered s)ecies of flora and fauna at the Fac111ty-2 Oliver Springs site and mace the results known to the Board and to us t

without delay.
