RESULTS OF NES-SELAMC0 ALLEGATION INSPECTION Enclosed for your information is a copy of the report for the NES-Selarco allegation inspection. The report contains information concerning the alleged use of uncertified welders and falsification of records for spent fuel storage racks at Trojan. The alleger contacted Carolina Power & Licht (CP&L) and expressed his concerns in February 1983. CP&L tubsequently notified the NRC and NES-Selarco. NES-Selamco responded to the allecations and implemented corrective action for the two allegations which were substantiated. CP&L reviewed the NES-Selamco response and found both the response and corrective action acceptable. The Vendor Program Branch received the allenation file in 1986 from Pcginn II. Hewever, the NES-Selamco facility was closed by the parent company, NES, in 1986 and the records were transferred to the NES Danbury, Connecticut office. Due to these facts, only a record review of the allegations at NES was feasible. Based on our review, additional corrective action by NES is not necessary. A ccpy of the report has been sent to Portland General Electric for their information.
