'l NRC-04-97-067 Modification No. 3 Page 2 of 2 The purpose of this modification is to: (1) modify the statement of work, and (2) provide funding in the amount of $100,000.00, which increases the Cooperative Agreement total obligated amount from $575,000.00 to $675,000.00. Accordingly, the following changes are hereby made.
1.
Statement of Work, Section entitled BACKGROUND, Paragraph 5, is modified to add the following:
"o Development and evaluation of a risk management tool set to assess safety critical processes. The development of the tool set could assist nationwide efforts in diverse applications and industries to apply microprocessors to safety-critical control functions. A specific case study in a safety-critical industry segment would show the benefits of the risk management tool set."

Notice of Cooperative Agreement, item No.15. NRC OBLIGATION OF FUNDS, is deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following:
