ANALOGEQUIPMEN[REPLACEMENTANDADMINISTRATIVECHANGES Your assistance is requested in conducting a review of the enclosed submittal from the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Corporation (the licensee of VYNPC) for Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station dated August 26, 1986. As discussed with D. Caphton of your staff, the enclosed package requests four items to be changed, and you are requested to review only the first three items. The fourth item (which pertains to the intent of the requirements governin pressure suppression chamber - reactor building vacuum breaker system)g is the already under review by the Plant Systems Branch within NRC.

Work for this review should be charged under TAC 62776. The requested completion date is April 30, 1987. Please notify me as soon as possible if '

this completion date is acceptable. The Project Manager for this review is V. Rooney and he can be reached at 492-8024(FTS).

In accordance with NRR Office Letter No. 44, each Safety Evaluation performed by a technical division shall have a separate SALP input provided. Therefore, we are requesting that your forwarding memorandum contain a SALP input for each Safety Evaluation performed.
