Response to Request for Additional Information - Vermont Yankee Proposed Spent Fuel Pool Expansion (Materials)

Dear Sir:

Pursuant to your recent request for additional information in support of our spent fuel pool expansion request [ Reference (b)], enclosed please find a copy of the report, "An Evaluation of the Material Performance Suitability of the New Vermont Yankee Spent Fuel Storage Rack Design." We trust that this report is responsive to your information request.

Additionally, please be advised that Vermont Yankee herein commits to establishing.an in-situ surveillance program consisting of Boral neutron poison surveillance specimens submerged in the Vermont Yankee spent fuel pool. A portion of the submerged coupons will.be in contact with stainless steel to show any galvanic effects. Once formalized, the procedure, containing surveillance frequencies and measurements consistent with currently accepted industry practices, will become a part of our surveillance program.
