Dear Ms. Wright:
On November 20th 1998, Mitsubishi submitted the attached application for export license. We understand that NRC is now waiting for the confirmation of the " authorized person" from the Japanese Government, in order to issue the export license.
Our customer in Japan - Kansai Electric Power Company, has notified us of the following:
i i
"After their internal review on the reload plan, they found that some quantity of max. 20,129 kgU in UF6, origir. ally planned to be allocated to Ohi Nuclear Power Station Unit No. I Region 20, would be actually allocated to Ohi Unit No. 2 Region 21. For your reference, Total Quantity and the name of the nuclear power station (OHI) will be unchanged. In other vords " Ultimate End Use" would be changed from Kansai" Chi Unit No. I Region 20" to "Ohi Unit No.1 Region 20 and Unit No. 2 Region 21".
As a result of this new information, Mitsubishi is kindly requesting NRC to change the end use to "Ohi Unit No.1 Region 20 and Unit No. 2 Region 21.
As I explaincd to you via the telephone, this material will be shipped out of USEC's Portsmouth Plant on May27th and May 28th 1999. Ms. Wright, thank you very much for your assistance in
' elping to receive this export license in a timely manner.
