DOCKET NOS. 50-445 AND 50-446 FEEDWATER SPLIT-FLOW BYPASS VALVES SDAR: CP-88-29 (SUPPLEMEU;.L REPGRT)

Gentlemen:

On April 22, 1988, TV Electric notified the NRC by a letter logged TXX-88384 of a deficiency involving a feedwater design modification which was not incorporated into the FSAR Chapter 15 accident analysis.

The purpose of this supplemental report is to status the corrective action implemantation.

An evaluation of the feedwater split-flow bypass valve has been performed and the single active failure currently assumed for the main feedline break event remains the most lin.iting case. Review of appropriate NEO & ECE procedures,as discussed in TXX-88384, has resulted in a change to a single ECE procedure.

Qualification of the feedwater split-flow bypass valve is continuing and will be complete by November 30, 1988.

Very truly yours, f
