April 1, 1987 Docket No. 99900015/86-01 Capitol Pipe & Steel Products, Incorporated ATTN: Mr. Clifford J. Demaret Chairman, CEO 1029 Conshchocken Road Conshohocken, Pennsylvania 19428 Gentlemen:

Thank you for your letter of March 4,1987, in response to our letter dated February 6, 1987. As a result of our review, we find that additional infor-nation, as discussed with your Ms. Patty Spadel during a telephone call on March 16, 1987, is needed.

Specifically, please describe the steps taken to correct the nonconformances identified in our Notice of Nonconformance, the steps to prevent their recurrence and the expected date your corrective and preventive measures will be completed. While we are aware of your recent financial difficulties and filing for protection under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code, we would hope that corrective and preventive measures will be taken in time to have a positive effect on liquidation sales between now and the expected closing of Capitol Pipe (July 31,1987).

Please provide the additional information within 25 days of the date of this letter.
