Applicants' October 14, 1988 interrogatories concerning JI Contentions 6 and 27-63.

SAPL's motion is grounded on the large number of l

interrogatories propounded to SAPL by the Applicants in their j

October 14, 1988 filing.

SAPL is expected to answer three general interrogatories and 83 interrogatories directed to specific contentions.

As further grounds for this motion SAPL statest 1.

Pursuant to Commission's September 22, 1988 Order, CLI-88-07 contentions on the plan by Applicants for decommissioning

Seabrook Station after low power operation are due on October 31, j

1988, ten days after the Applicants' plan filing date of October

This plan raises a variety of complex issues which must be researched to allow the filing of properly framed contentions.

2.

SAPL has been working on filing a timely response to the Applicants' October 11, 1988 interrogatories on JI Contentions 1-f 26 as well as responding to the Board's orders of October 18 and l

19 granting Applicants' motion to compel.

f 3.

SAPL must review a revision to the NHRERp filed by the State of New Hampshire on October 13, 1988.

4.

Applicants' counsel has agreed tc this extention with the understanding that he will have the response in hand on November 7, 1988.
