SUMMARY

OF FEBRUARY 24,1999, PLANNING MEETING WITH ABB COMBUSTION ENGINEERING NUCLEAR POWER On February 24,1999, ABB Combustion Engineering Nuclear Power (ABB CENP) met with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff at the NRC headquarters in Rockville, MD.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss ongoing and future licensing plans and interactions with various NPO organizations. Although much of the presentation material and the l

discussion invoued proprietary material, the non-proprietary version of the slides used by ABB 1

CENP is included as Attachment 2.

Representatives from ABB CENP first described their organization structure and business lines.

They then discussed the near-term licensing outlook for the following organizations: Field Services, Nuclear Fuel, Engineering Services, ABB Automation, Nuclear Systems, and the Combustion Engineering Owners Group. After brief discussions on several current and potential topical reports, the staff reminded the ABB CENP representatives that, for reports related to computer codes, the staff expects that the source code and an executable file will be submitted with the report.

The ABB CENP representatives and the staff agreed that this meeting was very useful for j

planning purposes and that a similar meeting should be planned for February 2000.
