l Proposed TS change for Nuclear Instrumentation System (NIS) Power Range Daily TS Surveillance Requirement Submittal Date: November 6,1998 i
- 1. Is there information to indicate that after calibration of the NIS at the 15% power range to l
the proposed +2% adjustment to calorimetric power, the calibration will remain proportional i
and not curve non-linearly to a non-conservative value at the higher power ranges? Please justify how only a +2% tolerance to TS Table 4.3-1, Note 2, will ensure conservative l
operation at high power.
i
- 2. Is it necessary to have the 85% RTP adjustment that is now an administrative control be made a TS requirement in order to meet 50.36 (c)(2)((ii)?
- 3. In the ANALYSIS section of Reference 1, starting on page A lll-5, it is stated in several l
places (LOCA and LOCA-Related Analysis, page 7; Non-LOCA Related Analyses, page 8; Mechanical Components and Systems, page 8; l&C Protection and Controls Systems, page 8; RTS and ESFAS Setpoints, page 8; and Other Safety-Related Areas and Analyses, page 9) that these analyses are not affected by the proposed NIS Power Range surveillance modification. Please indicate reasons why this is so.
