NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL OF INTERVENTION O{j NEW ENGLAND POWER COMPANY TO THE HONOlU.utE JUDGE THOMAS S. MOORE:

New England Power Company hereby requests that its intervention and all other pleadings filed by it in the above-referenced proceeding be withdrawn because, in accordance with the direction of the Commission, the parties engaged in and were able to reach an amicable settlement of their dispute. As a result of this settlement, New England Power Company formally states that it does not oppose the prospective acquisition by Little Bay of the 2.9 percent share of the plant. With the withdrawal of New England Power Company from this proceeding, the procedural schedule established by the Commission's Order CLI-99-06,49 NRC , (March 5,1999), as modified by the Presiding Administrative Judge's Order dated April 7,1999, may be ,

terminated.

WHEREFORE, for the above reasons, New England Power Company requests that its intervention in this proceeding be withdrawn and the hearing and related procedures established to deal with that intervention be terminated.
