IMPLEMENTATION OF EDO ACTION: PROPOSED AMENDl:Ef.T OF 10 CFR PARTS 30 AND 37 Cn January 9, 1987, the Executive Director for Operations signed a proposed rule which would amend 10 CFE Farts 30 and 32 to provide for manufacttirers' registration of radiation safety information about sources-and devices containing radioactive material.

Please implement the ED0's action by arranging for publication of the enclosed rule in the Federal Register allowir.g 60 days for public comment.

i Also erciosed is a Congressional letter package for transmittal to CA.

In addition, enclosed are copies of the draft rest:16 tory analysis and draft regulatory guides FC 603-4 and FC 601-4 for transmittal to the PDR.

An item for the Weekly Report to the Comission was submitted to the EDO on Dece.ber 18, 1956, as an enclosure to the memorandum that recornended signing of the proposed rule.

In view of the minor nature of the proposed amendments which merely formalize present practice, the Office of Public Affairs agrees that a public announcement is not needed for the proposed rule.
