This letter is to inform you of Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation's plans with regard to the shipment of four nuclear fuel bundles contained in two shipping containers to the Wilmington, NFih Carolina facility of the General Electric Company pursuant to the authority of License SNM-1895. -Niagara Mohawk has developed specific procedures for the packaging of ths' unopened shipping

containers into the outer containers, the handling of such containers and the

loading and inspection of sTch containers on trucks for shipment. Health physics and quality assurance procedures presently in use for Nine Mile Point, Unit 1 pursuant to 10 C.F.R. Part 50, Appendix B will be utilized to fulfill

the requirements of Part 71, including Subsection H.
