Enclosed is a copy)of the Part 70 license issued to Carolina Power and Light Company (CPL for Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1, with the supporting Safety Evaluation Report (SER).

Please note that this license l

contains additional conditions which you may wish to incorporate into your Part 50 operating license.

i It should also be noted that CPL requested the storage of fresh fuel assemblies i

j only in the racks in the New Fuel Storage Pool. Since the PWR new and spent fuel cell designs are identical, t'e nuclear criticality safety is also assured I
