COMMENDATION FOR SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE COMMITTEE TO REVIEW GENERIC REQUIREMENTS I would like to thank you for your active participation in and strong support of the activities of the Committee to Review Generic Requirements (CRGR) since your appointment in January 1996 as the OGC member of the CRGR. Your expertise in many areas considered by CRGR in its review of proposed new requirements and significant policy issues, especially those related to NRC's move to risk-inforrned and performance-based regulations, were extremely valuable. In particular, your broad knowledge and sound insights from the technical as well as legal perspective have significantly strengthened the important function served by the Committee. I am all the more appreciative of your efforts on the CRGR in view of the significant additional burden imposed by your participation in the Committee's regular meetings as well as various special meetings held to support staff commitments.
