SUBJECT:

HOUSE V0TE ON TARAPUR RESOLUTION The House of Representatives yesterday by a vote of 227 nays to 181 yeas defeated a resolution to prevent the export of nuclear fuel to India for use in the Tarapur reactor.

The principal spokesman for the resolution was Rep. Richard Ottinger (D-N.Y. ).

The resolution was opposed by the House International Relations Committee.
