Gentlemen:
In Reference (a), Duquesne Light Company (DLC) requested NRC approval to use ASME III Code Case N-318-2, " Procedure for Evaluation of the Design of Rectangular Cross Section Attachments on Class 2 or 3 Piping,Section III, Division I," for Beaver Valley Power Station - Unit No. 2 (BVPS-2).
The NRC's response, provided in Reference (b), stated that Revision 2 of the subject code case has been superseded by Revision 3, and that Revision 3 is expected to be included in a future revision of Regulatory Guide 1.84.
DLC was given approval to use Code Case N-318-3 upon submittal of information indicating the intended method of lug attachment, and the piping systems and their locations to which the code case will be applied.

United States Nuclear Regulatory Commiscion Mr. Peter Tam, Project Manager Use of ASME III Code Case N-318-3 Page 2 The attachment to this letter provides the information requested by the NRC concerning DLC's application of Code Case N-318-3 at BVPS-2. This information is currently being incorporated into the BVPS-2 FSAR (BVPS-2 ASME Code Baseline Document) and the related specifications. Similar in-formation for any future applications of this code case will be provided via revision to the FSAR (BVPS-2 ASME Code Baseline Document).
