Dear Ms. Garde and Mr. Devine:
Your letter of October 5, 1985 presented GAP's general conclusions concerning alleged quality assurance deficiencies at General Electric's facility in San Jose, California.
Further, you indicated your willingness to meet with the NRC to provide more detailed information concerning this issue.
With regard to your proposed meeting, absent more specific information regarding the nature of the allegations, such a meeting would be premature.
In order for the NRC to pursue your concerns, it is incumbent upon you to provide any information you have to the NRC which potentially involves a substantial safety hazard. While your letter contains general conclusions, it does not include sufficient specific information upon which the NRC can take appropriate action.
We therefore request that you provide all pertinent information, including the specific allegations and your consultant's report, for our review.
Following our review we will determine how to proceed.
