.ITS 1 AND 2 - TEMPORARY DEVIATION REQUEST FCOM REQUIREMENTS OF 10 Ch. T0, APPENDIX R. SECTION III.G.2 In a let.er to HRC dated October 13, 1988, TVA requested a temporary deviation from the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix R, section III.G.2.
In accordance with a telephone conversation between H. A. Cooper, of SQN Site Licensing, and Jack Donohew, of your staff, this letter is provided to request that the temporary deviation remain in effect until restart from the unit I cN1e 4 refueling octage.
This ending date is consistent with TVA's existing commitments for completion of modification for interaction Nos. 90 and 91 for source range nuclear instrumentation as well as long-term corre:tive actions to prevent spurious operation of the volume control tank outlet valves identified in interaction No. 120.
Additionally, in order for TVA to adequatelf consider available options for resolution of the battery board room interactions described in the above-referenced temporary deviation request ana to allow sufficient time to obtain cost and schedule approval for necessary mod!fications, TVA is revising the November 30, 1988 commitment for submittal of a long-term pl-TVA will submit to NRC the long-term actions to be taken to re ive this deficiency by December 21, 1988.
