February 6, 1987 S.A. Varga letter to D.L. Farrar

Dear Mr. Denton:

Reference (a) provided the NRC evaluation of the Reactor Containment Fan Cooler (RCFC) heat removal capability and requested that Commonwealth Edison provide additional information demonstrating that the enhanced performance of the RCFC, observed from testing, does not adversely affect the assumptions regarding RCFC performance contained in the ECCS containment backpressure analysis.

In reference (a) this information was requested to be submitted within thirty (30) days of receipt of the NRC transmittal.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that this matter is currently under review, however we do not expect to have it completed until June 1, 1987.

At that time our response will be forwarded to you.

Please direct any questions on this matter to this office.
