STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIEFING ON STATUS OF TVA, 2:00 P.M., MONDAY, MARCH 16, 1987, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, D.C. OFFICE (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)
The Commission was briefed by TVA management on the status of its nuclear operations programs, including its handling of employee concerns.
Presentations to the Commission were made by the following TVA representatives:

- C.H. Dean
- J. Waters
- J.E. Huston
- E. Kirkebo
- W.
Brown
- E. Sliger
- T. Jenkins
- H. Abecrombie Chairman Zech observed that NRC concerns with TVA were shared by TVA management; he emphasized the importance of good communi-cations between TVA and the NRC and stated that the NRC relies on licensees to inform us of problems at their plants; he observed that design issues could be the controlling factor in the restart readiness of TVA plants; and he emphasized the importance of factoring required NRC reviews into TVA schedules.
There were no requirements placed on the staff at this meeting.
