Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 Process Control Program Gentlemen:
In response to Generic Letter 84-12 Duquesne Light Company, in a letter dated December 13, 1984, submitted a copy of the Beaver Valley Unit 1
Process Control Program (PCP) to NRR.
The NRR response dated January 25, 1985 found the PCP to be acceptable for use.
During NRC Inspection 86-05 at Beaver Valley Unit 1,
the inspector reviewed a revised PCP which had incorporated a vendor test report dated April 1985 for Part 61 Waste Form compliance.
Our Radiological Engineering Section has completed an independent review of the test report and determined that the testing performed by ATCOR satisfies all of the requirements of 10 CFR 61.56(b) and the guidance provided by the May 1983 USNRC Technical Position on Waste Form.
Enclosed in a
copy of our revised PCP (Operating Manual Chapter 18, Issue 2, Revision 8).
In addition to our documented independent review, this submittal should resolve inspector follow item 86-05-06.
