NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT 50-352/99-01,50-353/99-01
Dear Mr. Rainey:
On March 1,1999, the NRC completed a 7-week inspection at Limerick Generating Station. The
enclosed report contains the details of that inspec' ion.
l
Limerick Units 1 and 2 were operated safely during the period. Your staffs conduct of activities
during this period was characterized by safe and conservative decision making. In particular
your staffs actions to perform an internal valve inspection to confirm operability of HV-087-1208,
a primary containment isolation valve, demonstrated conservative decision making and a focus
on early identification and resolution of equipment problems. Also, your staff continued to

implement effective Radiological Environmental Monitoring and Meteorological Monitoring
Programs.
Based on the results of this inspection, the NRC has determined that one violation of NRC
requirements occurred. This violation is being treated as Non-Cited Violation (NCV), consistent
with Appendix C of the Enforcement Policy. The NCV is described in the subject inspection
report. If you contest the violation or severity level of the NCV, you should provide a response
within 30 days of the date of this inspection report, with the basis for your denial, to the Nuclear
Regulatory Commission, ATTN: Document Control Desk, Washington DC 20555-0001, with a
copies to the Regional Admiristrator, Region I, and the Director, Office of Enforcement, United
States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC 20555-0001.
