Dear Mr. Beckner:
This letter confirms the March 1,1999, telephone conversation between Stephanie Alleman, National Council on Radiation Protection and IWeasurements (NCRP), and Mona Selden of my staff, in which NCRP was advised that due to budget constraints, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) can no longer support the subject grant. Consequently, effective February 28,1999, this grant was terminated for the convenience of the Government.
As discussed between Ms. Alleman and Ms. Selden, all payments under this grant have been made, therefore, we are initiating closeout action. However, pending completion of all required closeout requirements, it is necessary to deobligate exce.

MODIFICATION NO. SiO GRANT NO. NRC-04-97-043 B'ETWEEN NATIONAL COUNCIL ON RADIATION PROTECTION AND MEASUREMENTS AND THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION The purpose of this modification is to terminate this grant effdive 2/28/99, for the conveniecne of the Govemment, and to deobligate excess funds in the amount of $212.12, decreasing the obligated amount from $137,000.00 to $136,787.88. Accordingly, the following changes are hereby made:
