Dear Mr. Hite:

This letter is in response to your June 5,1985 letter to me concerning methane gas that is being produced at the landfill in Lake County, Ohio.

Although the landfill in Lake County is only about 3 miles from the Perry plant site, and thus closer to the plant site than the landfill previously discussed in my May 24, 1985 letter, the response given to you in that letter is still valid. To reiterate, because methane gas is lighter than air, and because its buoyancy tends to cause it to disperse rapidly, the methane gas produced at the Lake County landfill would also have no adverse effect on the operation of the Perry plant.
