ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT N0. 16 TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE l
N0. R-103 - University of Missouri Research Reactor The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.16 to Facility Operating License No. R-103 for the University of Missouri Research Reactor. The amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your submittals dated February 26, 1982, November 22, 1985, and May 20, 1988.
The amendment (1) authorizes an increase in the amount of depleted uranium that may be received, possessed, and used from 20 kg. to 50 kg., (2) authorizes the receipt, possession,)and use of up to 40 grams of plutonium in the form of a sealed rod source, (3 removes the requirement that the pool cooling system pumps operate in parallel, (4) updates the facility organ-izational structure, and (5) corrects a typographical error and replaces references to the AEC with NRC.
A copy of the related Safety Evaluation supporting Amendment No.16 is enclosed.
