'ASLBP was established as a statutorily authorized office of the NRC, conducting hearings as an independent adjudicatory panel, to hear and decide hearing petitions by intervenors and licensees concerning public health, safety, and environmental issues arising out of the grant, suspension, revocation, amendment, or renewal of licenses to operate and decommission nuclear power plants.

ASLAP resources are included in FY 1990 only as this Panel was eliminated.
