Dear Mr. Kingsley:

On March 11,1999, the NRC comp!eted an inspection at your Braidwood Generating Station,

Units 1 and 2. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
The inspection was an examination of activities conducted under yourlicense as they relate to
implementation of your NRC-approved physical security plan and to compliance with the
l
. Commission's rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license. Within these areas,
the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records,
interviews with personnel, and observation of activities in progress.
- Security force performance was considered a strength. Although the quantity of
self-assessments has decreased, the quality of the self-assessments reviewed were very
good. An Inspection Followup Item was identified pertain'.,g to the recent turnover rate for
the security orgar^ation.
