Alexander Nuclear Assessment Group Manager March 22, 1999 BECo Ltr. 2.99.033 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 License DPR-35 Docket 50-293 USl A-46 Schedule Revision The schedule for Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station's USI A-46 implementation plan is revised.
Pilgrim planned to complete the existing A-46 work scope by RFO 12. However, the work package planning for modifications associated with the A-46 out'ier resolutions identified the implementation phase to be larger than anticipated. This work cannot be integrated and completed within the current outage scope and duration.
j A significant number of the highest priority modifications of this A-46 scope is expected to be completed by RFO 12. The remaining work will be integrated with additional scope resulting from the re-application of the Generic Implementation Procedure (GIP) Method A methodology, as discussed in BECo's RAI response letter dated June 15,1998, (BECo letter 2.98.045). A schedule for completion cannot be finalized until the NRC issues its USl A-46 Safety Evaluation Report (SER) for Pilgrim.
