Dear his. Shirley Jackson his. Jackoson lately I have been looking into a matter about the Millstone Power Plants of Connecticut, NY. I am very much concerned about the lives of the many citizens of Long Island. This is so because within the last few months the Millstone 3 has had numerous shut downsbecause of a threat of a meltdown of other dangers in which it has put us.
The reason the East end of Long Island has a larger concern is that if the power plant should have a meltdown we are not warned because the law indicates that we only have a warring if we are in a 10-mile radius. Even though the wa:.ung goes as far as 10-miles from the occurrence the radiation over time kills or severely injure many people and may destroy our land and economy forther from the Power Plant.
If the Millstone 3 dose have a meltdown it's radiation is very harmful to l
human and animals even farther then 10 miles from the power plant. The harm of the radiation has been shown in past test and to our unfortune, past occurrences.
1 The radiation can cause many harmful disease such as cancer which may lead to death.
The radiation is also very pollutant to our environment by ruining our land and soil. Long Island's main economy is based on our grand agriculture. If radiation should leak to our soil it would ruin the agriculture and there leading to the major loss of our economy.
Those are only two reasons for the Millstone 3 should consider a shut down, not just for some time but for good. The loss our people and environment is even alone a great loss to Long Island. Thank you for your time and I hope you conder my suggestion.
