Dear Ms. Jackson,
I am a current resident of the town of East Hampton, NY. I am deeply concerned about the absence of an evacuation plan for the East End in the case that Millstone 3 (Nuclear Power plant) in Connecticut were to explode and send radioactivity our direction.
Now,I am not a type of pessimist tim is making up wild stories about the power plant,I have my reasons. For starters, Millstone 3 has the worst safety record in the United States. Since its last
" official" shutdown in August,it has had 5 emergency shut downs...in 5 months!
(And it isn't one of those types of shutdowns due to an immediate change of a light bulb; it's a shut it down or it'll explode!)
In the case that it exploded in one of the incidents that have been on for the past months the people could at least escape by

following their emergency escape plan, but what if your area doesn't, where would it, as well as you, go? Well, that is the main problem we the people in the East End are facing with no secure evacuation plan, and, the radiation heading towards us, we would be literally trapped.
This brings me to my next reason,if the plant were to explode, and we were able to escape, the radioactivity would probably increase the cancer rate in the United States. Not only that, but IDR DO 245 H
childbirth by the East End would hi s..et increase the rate of
" mutated" babies by at least 50%.
Millstone 3 may indeed be a method of profitable energy for the government, but is it really worth the lives of millions of Long Islanders? If this plant were to explode, tell me, who will there be to sell this power to, all that would be left is an abandoned ghost
" town" and millions of radioactive East End citizens scattered all over the East coast with no past, and for most of them, no future.
I really do hope that you are truly listening to me, and do something about this potential crisis.
